Cancelled - John Seibert Farnsworth with David B. Williams
John Seibert Farnsworth, a recent transplant to the Pacific Northwest, is a writer, teacher and lifelong devotee of nature writing and literary natural history. Tonight he’ll speak about his travels to field stations to such places as the Hastings Natural History Reservation, the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory and the North Cascades Institute’s Environmental Learning Center.
His book, Nature Beyond Solitude (Comstock/Cornell University Press) is rich with stories about his engagement with rangers, scientists and others involved in longtime ecological study. John Farnsworth appears in conversation with Seattle science writer, David B. Williams, author of Too High and Too Steep, Cairns, Seattle Walks and other books about history, geology and other aspects of the natural world.
