It’s become a summer tradition for us to invite baseball historians to speak on the finer points of baseball history during these summer weekends (when the Mariners are out of town) and we’re glad to welcome SABR writer Steve Steinberg back to Elliott Bay tonight. His latest book is Urban Shocker : Silent Hero of Baseball’s Golden Age  (University of Nebraska Press), a biography of the 1920s era St. Louis Browns and New York Yankees spitballer. Also speaking tonight is SABR colleague Rob Garratt, emeritus professor of English and humanities at the University of Puget Sound, here with his new book, Home Team : the Turbulent History of the San Francisco Giants (also published by University of Nebraska Press).
