Fiona Davis

Fiona Davis’ debut novel, The Dollhouse (Dutton), pulls readers into the lush world of New York City’s Barbizon Hotel for Women, where in the 1950s a generation of aspiring models, secretaries and editors lived side by side while attempting to claw their way to success.  Home at various times to Joan Didion, Sylvia Plath and many other mid century New York transplants, the Barbizon of The Dollhouse is the setting for two stories: that of a deadly event involving a model and a maid who became friends during the 1950s and the journalist who becomes obsessed with their story decades later.

“Rich both in twists and period detail, this tale of big-city ambition is impossible to put down.”—People.

Fiona Davis is also the author of The Address, (forthcoming from Dutton on August 1st).
